These General Conditions (“Terms”) apply to bookings and services offered through VisitPanama.ca (“VisitPanama”, “we”, “us”, “our”), including hotel reservations, activities, transportation, packages, and custom itineraries (the “Services”). By booking or using our Services, you agree to these Terms.
VisitPanama acts as a travel arranger and reseller of travel services. Many Services are delivered by third-party providers (hotels, tour operators, transport companies). Your booking may be subject to both these Terms and the provider’s specific terms (for example: cancellation rules, check-in requirements, safety rules). If there is a conflict, the provider’s rules for that specific service typically apply.
Prices shown on the website may be displayed before taxes and applicable taxes may be added at checkout as a separate line item.
In Panama, hotel stays are commonly subject to a 10% hotel tax (ITBMS category for lodging).
Inclusions (for example breakfast, internet, resort access) vary by property and product listing. What is included is what is stated on the booking page or in your written confirmation.
Payment is due as shown at checkout or as specified in your confirmation (especially for custom itineraries).
Some bookings may require advance payment before arrival (this is common for many hotel arrangements).
If a payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel the booking.
Your booking is confirmed only once you receive written confirmation (email or order confirmation). You are responsible for providing accurate traveler details (names, dates, contact information). If you book for other travelers, you confirm you have authority to do so.
Changes (dates, names, room types, activity times) depend on provider availability and rules. Some changes may be treated as cancellations and rebookings and may carry fees or penalties.
Cancellation terms vary by hotel/activity/provider and season. Your specific cancellation terms will be shown at checkout or in your confirmation.
Typical examples you may encounter (provider rules):
City hotels may allow cancellations without penalty if received 48 hours before the scheduled check-in time; later cancellations may be charged (often one night plus tax).
No-show (not arriving and not cancelling) may be charged (often 100% of the first night, and sometimes more during peak/holiday periods).
Certain dates (holidays/blackout periods) can have stricter penalties.
Refund processing times depend on the payment method and provider confirmation.
Hotels commonly require a valid credit card at check-in for incidentals (for example minibar, room service, damages), even if your room is prepaid.
Common hotel timing policies:
Typical check-in: 3:00 PM
Typical check-out: 12:00 PM
Early check-in / late check-out is subject to availability and may be charged by the hotel.
Many hotels in Panama operate as smoke-free properties and may impose cleaning charges for violations (a published example charge is USD $250).
You are responsible for passports, visas, health requirements, and complying with entry rules and airline requirements. We can provide guidance, but you must verify official requirements for your citizenship and itinerary.
We strongly recommend travel insurance (medical, trip interruption, baggage, cancellations). You are responsible for evaluating coverage and purchasing it if desired.
Some activities (for example boating, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, horseback riding) carry inherent risk. You agree to follow provider safety instructions and acknowledge that participation is at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
VisitPanama is not liable for acts, errors, omissions, delays, or failures of third-party providers.
We are not responsible for disruptions caused by events outside our control (weather, strikes, governmental actions, airline changes, natural events, etc.).
Our total liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid to VisitPanama for the specific Services giving rise to the claim.
If an event outside reasonable control makes it illegal, unsafe, or impossible to deliver Services (for example natural disasters, government restrictions), bookings may be changed, delayed, or cancelled. Refunds/credits (if any) depend on provider rules and the nature of the event.
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt services. Content on the website (text, images, logos) is owned by VisitPanama or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission.
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
